ONE FOR THE ROAD

The gang is stunned as they watch Diane receive an award for a screenplay she has written. To congratulate her, Sam sends her a telegram, and she calls back to thank him. They talk about their lives and lie to each other about having spouses and families, until, in a moment of weakness, Sam invites her back to Boston.

Meanwhile, Rebecca is ecstatic when Don finally pops the question, but she finds it hard to say ``yes'', thinking that she can't possibly marry a plumber.

Diane does return to Boston, with her alleged ``husband'', and has dinner with Sam and his ``wife'' Rebecca. The truth comes out, and it's not long before the passion between Sam and Diane is back on. Back at the bar, Sam informs the gang that he is going to California with Diane.
